The Irene E. and George A. Davis Foundation Read! Reading Success by 4th Grade


Engage the community in improving literacy and reading proficiency in Springfield, where nearly two-thirds of the city’s 3rd graders read below grade level; reach bilingual homes and the city's large Hispanic population.


Developed all branding and communications materials, rendered in English and Spanish; built a comprehensive public relations presence and engaged major media partners, including Hispanic media outlets, in promoting the goal of improved reading proficiency in Springfield. As a result, the National Civic League has identified Springfield as an All-America City as part of the national Campaign for Grade-Level Reading.
